FOUR DECADES OF LIGHT AND SURFACE
About Debra Van Tuinen
Debra Van Tuinen is a painter whose four-decade career has moved from encaustics and printmaking to her current work in acrylic and gold leaf, where luminosity and surface texture take center stage. Her work is held in private, corporate, and public collections across the United States, Canada, Asia, and Europe, including placements through the U.S. State Department's Art in Embassies program.
Her paintings have been shown at the Florence Biennale, the Seattle Art Fair, Art Basel Miami, and the Palm Springs Fine Art Fair, and she is featured in 100 Artists of the Northwest. Earlier work with print studios such as Oehme Graphics, including watercolor monotypes and solar-etching prints, still informs the material richness of her paintings.
